Ludieke Werken maakt culturele programma’s waarin bezoekers op open en toegankelijke wijze tot interactie en dialoog over kunst, poëzie of sociaal-maatschappelijke thema’s worden uitgenodigd. Sinds een aantal jaar combineer ik ludieke werken met mijn fotografie. Hieronder zie je een kleine selectie.

De woorden en gedachten van Pessoa nodigen uit tot onderzoeken, zoeken en bevragen. In deze expositie wilde ik via mijn fotografie een verbinding maken met een aantal gedichten van de Portugese dichter Fernando Pessoa. Mijn leidraden bij het maken van deze foto’s waren thema’s als reflectie, stilte, natuur. De dingen proberen te zien zoals ze zijn. Geïnspireerd door zeven gedichten onderzocht de ik onder meer de vraag “waarom erkennen we schoonheid aan dingen, terwijl het gewoon dingen zijn?”
Het ontwerp van de expositie was opgebouwd met waslijnen. De foto’s waren naast verschillende gedichten van Pessoa aan de lijnen bevestigd. Bezoekers konden er tussendoor lopen en de foto’s aanraken. Poëzie in beweging. Aan de hand van 5 quotes van Pessoa konden mensen hun ervaringen delen.

Gathering courage
“What is courage’? How do people gather courage to go forward every day? How do people gather courage to follow their dream?
Many people are making small and large courageous deeds every day, and inspire others by doing so. 
Gathering courage was an artist-in residence project for Fundação Arpad Szenes-Vieira da Silva, Lisbon. I made a personal photography project inspired on the work of Portuguese/French abstract painter Maria Helena da Vieira da Silva  (1908-1992) and developed a workshop for FAZ 15-25, the Youth Collective of the museum. First we talked about the meaning of courage. Then we visualized these reflections and thoughts. Inspired by the portuguese tradition of making azulejos, each student made a azujelo art object to stimulate dialogue between the museum visitors about courage.
The azujelo designs and my photography were displayed together on the wall at the entrance of the museum. The visitors were invited to participate by making their own courage designs.  In the end we ‘gathered a variety of courage’ , translated in creativity, dialogue and designs.  “Un tableau doit avoir son coeur, son système nerveux, ses os et sa circulation. Il doit resembler a une personne en ses mouvements. Il faudrait que celui le regarde se trouve devant un être qui lui tiendra compagnie, qui lui racontera des histoires, qui lui donnera des certitudes. Parce que le tableau n’est pas l’evasion, il doit être un ami qui vous parle, qui decouvre les richesses cachées en vous et autour de vous”.  Maria Helena Vieira da Silva.

Oogst
Every September the island of Oland in Sweden is celebrating the harvest of pumpkins, potatoes, apples, onions, carrots and much more. The harvest is combined with the yearly “Konstnatten’ (Art Nights) in which the work of artists, musicians and performers can be experienced all over the island. The festival has about 100.000 visitors every year which makes it the largest harvest festival in Sweden.
The concept for ‘Oogst’ consisted of photographs of the season’s harvest displayed in wooden fruit cases that served as frames, enticing the visitors to have
a bite of art. The exposition was on display in a beautifully restored former school building, surrounded by apple trees and amidst fields of potatoes and pumpkins.

Ludieke Werken maakt culturele programma’s voor musea, bibliotheken, culturele organisaties. Programma’s waarin bezoekers op open en toegankelijke wijze tot interactie en dialoog over kunst, poëzie en sociaal-maatschappelijke thema’s worden uitgenodigd. Met ca. twaalf jaar ervaring in het culturele veld, o.a. voor het Van Gogh Museum, Het Dolhuys, Joods Cultureel Kwartier, Museum Catharijne Convent, zet ik mijn kwaliteiten met enthousiasme en betrokkenheid in om samen een educatief programma of tentoonstelling tot een veelzijdige ervaring voor de bezoekers te maken en om mensen hun omgeving met nieuwe ogen te laten bekijken.
